My Ultimate Article Marketing Strategy
Article marketing is one of the most cost-effective ways to market yourself on the Internet. It’s a great way to build your credibility, attract prospects, generate leads, and drive traffic to your blog or website.
Leverage is what makes article marketing such an effective marketing tool. Using this technique–and the strategy I’ve outlined here–you’ll be able to leverage your content in a number of different ways. And you’ll be able to leverage your time and/or your money to achieve massive results.
This strategy will help you reap all the benefits of article marketing.
Network Marketing Tip: Master Mass Psychology for Mass Prospecting Appeal
Every successful network marketer knows that you’ve got to know what your prospects are thinking and speak directly to their concerns, aspirations, and desires.
Prospecting One-on-One
If you follow your company’s recommendations and call your family and friends, you probably have a “success story” to share with prospects that has the following basic structure:
I was once…
I felt…
Then I…
And now I…
In theory, that should work. People want to relate to someone else, especially if they’re successful.
But the truth is, not everyone is a great storyteller. Not everyone has the ability to inspire every time they tell a story. More to the point, not everyone is able to convey their network marketing experiences in an inspiring way.
Build a List for Free Using Social Media
Building a list is one of the top priorities for any Internet Network Marketer. You can buy lists or rent lists. But building your own list is by far the best way to go. When you build your own, you have your own customers, or potential customers, not someone else’s.
So, where do you start?
Old-School Network Marketing List Building
In the old model of Network Marketing, you can buy leads from other people’s lists. There are some obvious problems with this approach:
- * It’s gets expensive
* You’re not necessarily getting "hot leads"
* Cold-calling to people who may or may not want to talk with you
What’s the solution?
Internet Network Marketing List Building
There are lots of free ways to attract leads to you on the Internet. The benefits of these attraction marketing methods are:
- * They’re free
* Your leads are already interested in what you’re providing
* You’re calling people who would welcome hearing from you (and may have requested that you contact them).
How exactly is this done?
"How I Built My First List"
Mike Klingler’s three-part video series "How I Built My First List" demystifies the list-building process by showing you step-by-step how he built his first list of 1,172 Prospects in 3 Days days when he was a newbie by using methods that are free and available to everyone.
Central to Mike’s approach is applying the concept of "leverage" to developing content that grabs the reader’s or viewer’s interest.
In the videos, Mike shows how he used the following techniques to generate interest and list members:
- * Leveraging a social movement
* Leveraging timely content
* Leveraging a well-known person
The most useful part of the series is that Mike breaks down how you can use these same methods to build your own list.
Use Social Media to Build Your List
Mike focuses in detail on social media as a means of list-building: Articles, Videos, Twitter, social networks.
"How I Built My First List" takes you beyond the obvious "socializing" aspect of social media and reveals the specific ways to use attraction marketing techniques to create an online presence that attracts prospects to you and build your list.
Video #3 is my favorite one. Here, Mike outlines how to use Twitter to develop relationships and potential prospects. He provides a wide range of specific examples of the type of tweets that attract prospects, how to create an "attractive" online presence, and how to leverage that presence into leads for your list.
The power of using social media to build your list is that even before someone joins your list, they have developed a relationship with you and vice-versa. They’re not just a name on a list, but a person that you know. More importantly, you are someone that they know. And that relationship strengthens your ability to market to that person over time.
The Value of Your List
"How I Built My First List" is probably the most comprehensive tutorial on free list building available.
Building a list by first developing relationships is powerful and will give you added leverage in marketing to that list over time.
As you continue to add people to your list, you will be continuing to develop those relationships. As your list grows and the relationships strengthen, you’ll have an increasingly powerful tool that will enable you to market effectively to an ever-growing number of people.

6 Ways to Generate Leads for Free
Yesterday, I asked the question "what is a lead?" And I came up with a broad definition that went like this: A lead is someone who has taken some form of action toward you or what you’re offering.
Further, the goal of an Attraction Marketer in each and every interaction is to move that person one step closer to what they’re offering.
That, of course, begs the question: Where does one go in search of leads? Answer: Go where the people are.
Here are 6 ways you can generate leads by meeting people where they already are– for free and without even having your own website:
Article Marketing
Writing articles on your subject area is a smart way to attract leads to you. It establishes your credentials in a particular area and it extends your reach to a range of ezines and publications around the Net. I use both EzineArticles and Article Marketer in my article marketing efforts.
Content Communities
Both HubPages and Squidoo offer online tools that enable you to post content — articles, photos, video — and interact with a community of lensers (Squidoo) or hubbers (HubPages). A great way to blend content creation and community.

Forum Posting
A very popular method of establishing your "street cred" in a particular subject area is to post useful information in forums. It’s not without it’s drawbacks. Some communities can be unforgiving, so if you make a fool of yourself once (say, by shamelessly promoting your business or affiliate links), you may not be taken seriously again. Who can blame them? On the other hand, I can attest that it does work. A fellow marketer once gave me some game-changing advice. And, now I remain a big fan.
Video Marketing
Yes, you can be just like the people you see on TV. In fact, on YouTube, you can have your very own channel all to yourself. Seriously, video is a powerful way to establish yourself, your brand, your message. People can get to know you and respond to your personality, beyond just a picture.
The increasingly popular microblogging service is as immediate and intimate as it is overwhelming and addictive. Twitter is perfect for the short-and-sweet communication. And for adding value to people with common interests. New to Twitter or have yet to send your first tweet? This article — Newbie’s guide to Twitter — gives you what you need to get started.
Yes, believe it or not, amid the high school friends you haven’t thought of in years and the goofy friends who keep sending you those wacky gifts, there’s a huge opportunity to develop meaningful relationships and, yes, leads for your business. Groups, Fan Pages, and other Facebook applications offer a wide range of ways to meet and stay connected to people who share your interests.
Wishing You the Best,
Ben Mapp
